This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected on https://chenbachar.art (the “Site”), why it is collected, how long it is kept and what rights you have. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run a small artist portfolio.

2. Laws that apply
We process personal data in accordance with:
- The Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment 13 (in force since 14 August 2025), and the guidance of the Privacy Protection Authority.
- The anti-spam provisions of the Israeli Communications Law (Amendment 40) for the newsletter.
- The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors located in the European Union or the European Economic Area.
3. What data we collect and why
3.1 Contact and artwork-inquiry forms
When you send a message through the contact form or the “inquire about this artwork” form (Fluent Forms), we collect the details you enter: name, email address, phone number, country, your message and the artwork you are interested in.
Purpose: to answer your inquiry and, where relevant, to arrange a purchase or commission by email or phone. Legal basis: your request before entering into an agreement, and our legitimate interest in responding to you. Retention: 24 months from submission, after which entries are deleted.
3.2 Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter (MailPoet) we store your email address, the date of your subscription and your confirmation. Subscription uses double opt-in, so we send emails only after you confirm the link sent to your address.
Purpose: to send occasional news about new artworks, exhibitions and lessons. Legal basis: your consent. Every email contains an unsubscribe link, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Retention: until you unsubscribe.
3.3 Analytics
With your consent in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how the Site is used. IP addresses are anonymised. Analytics is not loaded if you reject cookies.
Purpose: to improve the Site. Legal basis: your consent. Retention: see the Cookie Policy for cookie lifetimes.
3.4 Server and security logs
Our web server records standard technical logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type). The Wordfence security plugin also logs IP addresses and login attempts to protect the Site against attacks.
Purpose: security, detecting abuse and troubleshooting. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the Site secure. Retention: 30 days.
3.5 Third-party embeds
Videos are embedded from YouTube (youtube-nocookie) and social feeds from Instagram and Facebook (Smash Balloon). These embeds load only after you consent to marketing/social cookies. When they load, Google or Meta may process your data under their own privacy policies. The share buttons on the Site are plain links and send nothing to the platforms until you click them.
4. Where data is stored
Data is stored on the Site’s server, a virtual private server hosted in Germany (EU), and in Google services used by the Artist: Gmail for correspondence and Google Drive for backups. Backups are kept for 90 days.
Google may process data outside the EU. Where this involves EU visitors’ data, transfers rely on Google’s standard contractual clauses. For Israeli residents, transfers comply with the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data Abroad) Regulations.
5. Who has access to your data
Your data is handled by the Artist only. We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be shared with:
- Service providers that host or process it on our behalf (hosting provider, Google, MailPoet), bound by their data-processing terms.
- Authorities, where required by law.
6. Your rights
Under Israeli law and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time (for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter or rejecting cookies), without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
- For EU visitors: request restriction of processing and data portability.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority (www.gov.il/he/departments/the_privacy_protection_authority) or, if you are in the EU/EEA, with the supervisory authority in your country.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption, a security plugin that monitors login attempts, restricted access to the site administration and regular backups. No online service is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be indicated on the Site.
